The Word We Are Sitting Under

"Stay in the Faith"

January Teaching Emphasis at Creative Worship Center

As we crossed from 2025 into 2026, the Lord gave our house a clear charge: stay in the faith!

This word was not delivered as motivation, but as formation. Scripture reminds us that remaining faithful to the Kingdom of Heaven is not automatic. Faith is learned, practiced, and guarded while we live in a world that is often hostile to truth.

The apostle Paul writes:

“Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage war according to human standards; for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human, but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 10:3–5 NRSV

This teaching calls the people of God to recognize that much of spiritual warfare takes place in the mind. A stronghold is not a physical structure—it is a mental captivity. Thoughts that go unchecked can quietly shape direction, confidence, and obedience.

Faith Formed in Hostile Environments

Scripture does not present faith development as a sheltered process. Paul warned Timothy that “in the last days distressing times will come” 2 Timothy 3:1, NRSV. He described corrupt minds and counterfeit faith as real opposition to truth.

Yet Paul’s instruction was not fear—but resolve:

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed.” 2 Timothy 3:14 NRSV

Faith must be continued. Remaining requires intention. Drifting often happens quietly, but staying rooted requires discernment, endurance, and discipline.

Confidence That Must Be Reinforced

Another key instruction from this teaching is the call to self-reminding. Paul writes:

“If you are confident that you belong to Christ, remind yourself of this.” 2 Corinthians 10:7 NRSV

Confidence in Christ is not arrogance—it is spiritual responsibility. There are seasons when encouragement does not come from the crowd. Sometimes, it is just the believer and the Holy Spirit. In those moments, faith is preserved through remembrance: I belong to Christ.

A Word for This Season

This January teaching is a call to remain steady while crossing into a new season. Not every answer arrives at once. Not every path is immediately clear. But faith does not require full visibility—it requires trust, obedience, and continued alignment with truth.
